These are good observations, but as far as the intstitutional church having value for resources and manpower... I agree, but these things don't come without unnecessary sacrifice and suffering. Money and people-power don't come with abusive manipulation. This is my whole beef with organized religion. The need for "money" corrupts the motives and actions of those in charge. Sometimes only to a very slight degree, but it's there none-the-less. And if it's not money, it's control. Leaders like to flex their muscles over those who follow them. It's our nature. Problem is, like money, power corrupts. It tastes good, and our appetites increase for more of it. It's our nature.
