Sadly, that is right on target with about half the country's "Christian" population. How did it come to this?

In this day of extremes, I wonder what has happened to balance. We have the extreme religious right making a new religion of Christianized American conservatism, and the religious left making a new religion of agnostized Unitarian liberalism. It seems no matter where you look extremism is on the rise: extreme environmentalism, extreme vegetarianism, extreme politicization, extreme legal activism, and the list goes on and on. Our culture is become fragmented and polarized. Instead of being a force that is uniting the church seems to be becoming just another force of divisive extremism.

As a Christ-follower, I have a passion for balance in life. We should seek to be good stewards of the environment, good stewards of our bodies, good stewards of the government, good stewards of the law, good stewards of our spirituality and good stewards of life.

  • In the Celtic tradition "Thin Places" are places where the spiritual and the natural world intersect. It is a place where it is possible to touch and be touched by God. "Thin Spaces" are the moments when we experience a deep sense of God’s presence in our everyday world.
